THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE...

Watched it for the nth time!!! I would say I was mostly entertained by Andre Leon Talley's tennis attire and Of course Anna Wintour behind that bob.

But a lot of people said Grace Coddington stole the September Issue from Anna Wintour. I must admit she did pinch my heart. Here are some photos of her before having loads of reconstructive surgery after that car accident in her 20's. Grace Coddington is truly beautiful, more so now than ever.

This is like watching Devil wears Prada in real life...

Perfect Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.

Grilled cheese sandwiches that are actually grilled, what?? Yes, the grilling makes the bread so crispy and flavorful, making the whole melty cheese part that much more enjoyable. We used a combination of three cheeses, creamy havarti, colby cheddar, and jarlsberg swiss cheese. For extra flavor, we added fresh dill from our garden, pepper, a touch of dijon mustard, and tomatoes. This might just have to happen every weekend, it was so good! Oh yeah, don't forget the red wine and sourdough bread.

Happy Birthday Dad

Today is my dad's 60th birthday, he doesn't look a day over 50, but I guess I just turned 27, so it must be true. Anyway, he has always been there for me and given me the support, values, and strength to be who I am today. So thank you dad for everything (as well as letting me grow up with Hank Williams and Bob Dylan), here's to many more happy years, you are the best!

Ok, I'll tell you where it is... Second Use is a place that has been reclaiming building materials for re-use in the Puget Sound region since 1994 and they have the biggest and most reasonably priced selection I've ever seen: hardwood floors (intact and loose, finished and un-finished), doors, trim, kitchen sinks, toilets, claw-foot tubs, old signs, paintings, maps, cabinets, furniture and millions of vintage handles and doorknobs. It's pretty amazing!
